Nutella Cake Ball Truffles Recipe

Ingredients
  • 10 oz. semisweet/bittersweet baking chocolate , melted
  • 1/2 cup chocolate hazelnut spread or Nutella
  • 1/3 cup heavy cream, hot
  • For coating: ¾ lb. dark chocolate chips, 70% cacao
  • 1 cup roasted hazelnuts finely chopped

Directions
  1. In a small saucepan or double boiler, melt 10 oz. of bittersweet chocolate with cream and Nutella, stirring to combine. Remove from heat and refrigerate for 2 hours, covered.
  2. Form the truffles by scooping the mix 1 tablespoon at a time. Set over a tray covered with parchment paper and take to the freezer for 30 minutes.
  3. Melt ¾ lb. dark chocolate chips using a double boiler - or the microwave. Coat each truffle with chocolate, using a spoon or fork to dip. Tap to remove excess chocolate, then place back on the tray. Allow to set, then sprinkled with hazelnuts.
